TÄNAK WINS THE STAGE; COMFORTABLE OVERNIGHT LEAD FOR OGIER
Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT’s Jari-Matti Latvala:
“It has been a very good day for us, very exciting this morning with the fight between Sébastien and
Esapekka. I knew that coming into Saturday one of the drivers could do a mistake and I feel very sorry
for Esapekka. Our drivers have been doing a good job and we have retained the first and second
positions. It’s not over yet.”
Car 8. TÄNAK/JÄRVEOJA
“Compared to yesterday it has been a fantastic day, amazing I would say. Quite a bit more fun, but quite
a bit still lacking, I would say. For me, it’s a bit unnatural. Generally how it’s behaving and it’s difficult to
find the confidence. I think we have learned something today.”
Car 69. ROVANPERÄ/HALTTUNEN
“I was hoping for a bit more pace but comparing to the other times it seems to be a bit tricky. We try our
best tomorrow and hopefully focus on the Power Stage.”
Car 11. NEUVILLE/WYDAEGHE
“I continued on the same speed as yesterday and attacked a bit more this afternoon. It worked out quite
okay but then on the second last stage we punctured and lost a little time. We keep pushing now
tomorrow.”
Car 33. EVANS/MARTIN
“It has been a good fight. He has had ever so slightly the upper hand. Overall, the feeling and everything
is fine. We keep at it and give it our best shot and see what happens.”
Car 17. OGIER/LANDAIS
“Having this lead is good. l am happy with my day, a strong day for me. A bit of a different approach
When EP went off it changed the race for us. We still managed to set some good times and increase
our lead. One very long stage still to go and we cannot afford to relax.”
Car 18. KATSUTA/JOHNSTON
Heavy landing over the jump. “It was a difficult day. After the accident you do not feel good. I was
honestly not so much enjoying. Good training actually.”
Car 6. SORDO/CARRERA
“Tomorrow we need to keep pushing and stay there. It’s a hard day tomorrow.”
Car 9. SERDERIDIS/MICLOTTE
“We are cleaning a lot and you have to wait a lot before you put on the throttle.”
Car 20. GREENSMITH/ANDERSSON
Finished the leg with a comfortable WRC2 lead of 31.6 seconds after Fourmaux’s drama on SS18.
“We’ve not done much driving today. We tried a new set-up and maybe we didn’t need to try that. I
could not find the same performance I had yesterday. But we know what we have to do tomorrow. Thirty
seconds is a nice lead.”
Car 21. SOLBERG/EDMONDSON
Fourth quickest overall in SS18.
Car 22. FOURMAUX/CORIA
Clipped the inside of a corner in SS18 and survived a massive two-wheel moment without the car going
over on to its roof.
