LEÓN (MÉXICO): A new stage near the town of San Clemente hosted Monday’s official test
session for this weekend’s Rally Guanajuato México.
A total of 22 drivers – including front-runners like Oliver Solberg and Gus Greensmith taking part in the FIA WRC2 Championship – used the time constructively on a new 7.2km Romita de Liceaga special stage.
Thanks to cooperation between rally officials and the Municipal Government of Romita through the Department of Tourism, the sections of gravel roads were prepared in advance, with the stage starting from the Llave Dam and climbing towards the slopes of the nearby Cerro el Mancerrú.
The event was attended by the municipal mayor Dr. Oswaldo Ponce Granados, his wife and several local dignitaries. Spectators were present in large numbers and food and entertainment was laid on, including 60 food and drink stalls and a DJ. Transportation was also made available for local communities.
