STAGE FLASH 21
Four-minute intervals.
Car 1. OGIER/INGRASSIA
“It has always been special since the start. I am so glad it is continuing this way. It was not an easy
weekend for us and we came away with maximum points. I knew the feeling was good from the start of
the season. Sweden was one weekend to let pass. Corsica will be the same target to win and take
maximum points.”
PIERRE BUDAR, Team Principal of Citroën Total WRT
“What a wonderful result. He was wonderful all weekend. He took advantage of his position on the road
on the first day. On the Power Stage he was able to do the best time. Citroën and México appears to be
some sort of love story. We are happy to give them a good car to win here.”
Car 4. LAPPI/FERM
“I guess all the fights are over for the overall standings. I bet Mister Tänak will be on a really strong
side. It is cleaning. It is what it is.”
Car 5. MEEKE/MARSHALL
“I threw the kitchen sink at it. I had no idea whether hard or soft would be the best tyre. I pushed like
hell.”
Car 6. SORDO/DEL BARRIO
“The plan was to go normal but I pushed a little bit. I was having fun with the car. I did not want to make
any mistakes. After the problems we lose more points (Manufacturers, but we will be back on the next
rally.”
Car 10. LATVALA/ANTTILA
“End of the second last stage the last right hand corner and we touched the sumpguard and the radiator
broke. The water came out and we had no water. We have a chemical, like a glue, to fix the radiator. I
ran 500 metres down to a river to get some water. But the sumpguard was only half-fixed and I could
not drive fast.”
Car 11. NEUVILLE/GILSOUL
“My tyres were dead. I had to fight with that. I tried to have a good rhythm this morning in case
someone had a problem. Kris was saving his tyres.”
Car 33. EVANS/MARTIN
10-second penalty at the start of stage 21. “A couple of things. The long stage yesterday allowed Ott to
close the gap and we made the wrong tyre choice this morning. It turned out to be a lot more
aggressive than we thought. We showed some good pace. We still need to be that bit better.”
Car 89. MIKKELSEN/JAEGER-AMLAND
“A lot of positives to take away. For this stage I had a clean run but I missed the first pass of it
(Saturday).”
Car 21. PIENIAZEK/HELLER
“The kilometres are the most important. I am happy that we are here at the finish. It was an amazing
experience and I will be more confident next time on these stages that are much more demanding.”
Car 41. GUERRA/ZAPATA
“It’s a great result. The best result ever and my first victory in WRC 2. I have been fighting for this win
for two years. I am so happy that my first time is in México!”
Car 42. BULACIA/CRETU
Finished the stage on a front-right puncture. “The bad luck is following us. I did not hit anything. For
Argentina, I will be stronger.”
