STAGE FLASH 19
Four-minute intervals.
Car 1. OGIER/INGRASSIA
“Driving clean, for sure. I need to keep the speed They are pushing hard from behind. So far so good.”
Car 4. LAPPI/FERM
“At least I don’t need to follow any lines. I can choose my own lines. If they are wrong, the others are
suffering. It was slippery but that was expected.”
Car 5. MEEKE/MARSHALL
Reports filtered in that the engine sounded sick on acceleration out of corners and he dropped 40
seconds to Latvala. Reporter Colin Clark – “Reports coming in saying that the engine sounds a bit
off. Meeke: “That’s because I am not pressing the throttle….. I am saving tyres!”
Car 6. SORDO/DEL BARRIO
“It’s okay. The feeling was not so bad. I just need to arrive at the end and take the points for
Manufacturers. I will try and enjoy the last two stages and think ahead to the next rally.”
Car 8. TÄNAK/JÄRVEOJA
“Let’s see. I believe this one was the worst for the tyres (hard), early in the morning and quite loose.
Hopefully the next ones will be better.”
Car 10. LATVALA/ANTTILA
“Our target is the seventh place. That is the target. The second step is the Power Stage points. We will
see what we can get.”
Car 11. NEUVILLE/GILSOUL
“I am driving on a good rhythm. You never know with the guys behind having a puncture or a spin, so I
have to drive fast.”
Car 33. EVANS/MARTIN
“We can keep trying. The stage was not bad to be honest. The feeling was okay. We can push in the
next one.”
Car 89. MIKKELSEN/JAEGER-AMLAND
“It’s feeling very good to be honest and the car is handling very well. It is really nice. I just try to follow
his (Lappi) lines as much as I can. It is better than yesterday.”
Car 21. PIENIAZEK/HELLER
Drama as he left service this morning. He had a fuel pressure issue. The crew managed to restart the
car. “It was pretty good. The beginning was very good. I struggled a bit in the second half of the stage. It
was slippy and the tyres were overheating. I lost a bit of confidence, but I am generally happy.”
Car 41. GUERRA/ZAPATA
“Feeling really good. It is difficult to drive in these conditions because I just have to take the car to the
finish line. I just have to drive on this pace and not risk the car.”
