M-Sport Ford have confirmed that heavy damage was sustained by his car during the crash on SS2 and
the Finn will not restart on Saturday.

“The line is a bit cleaner and it a bit easier but it is still difficult. It is the same for everyone. I have to
learn.”

“I felt good on the hard tyre. It was like the shakedown on the second pass when I had a really good
feeling.”

Up to second overall after Mikkelsen stopped. “I do really nice stage. I could do a little better. I am
lucky to have good team support me and really good engineers.”

“Really tricky in some places to find the line, especially in the narrow and slow sections. Some places
were very tricky. I did everything I can.”
Car 10. LATVALA/ANTTILA
“Definitely was better. The time was 23 seconds quicker than the first time. I tried. More, I cannot really
- I saw the boys (Mikkelsen) parked on the side of the road.”

Touched the armco in the stage. “To be honest I said to Nico in the stage I cannot do more. I do not
know if we can catch time to Tänak.”

“That was okay. It felt okay to be honest. A bit of movement but I guess that is to do with the grip.”

Stopped 13.8km into the stage. He got going again soon afterwards and then stopped again close to
the end of the special and pulled off the side of the track. Helmets were removed by the crew and their
retirement from the leg was confirmed.

Stopped just over three kilometres into the stage.

hopes to rejoin on Saturday.
